Primary Supply Teacher – Flexible Roles in Crawley

About the role

Hays Education is seeking experienced primary teachers to join its supply roster across schools in Crawley and the wider East Sussex area. The role offers flexible full‑time or part‑time assignments, allowing you to choose the days and schools that best fit your schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the primary curriculum to mixed‑form, infant or junior classes on a daily supply basis.
• Adapt quickly to unfamiliar lesson plans, timetables and classroom environments.
• Maintain effective classroom management and uphold safeguarding standards.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, senior staff and school leadership as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing your induction year.
• Recent classroom experience (within the last five years) and familiarity with current curriculum updates.
• Creative, positive attitude and ability to integrate smoothly into new school settings.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with TAs, pupils and school personnel.

Required skills

• Classroom management techniques.
• Knowledge of current primary curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Safeguarding procedures and policies.
