Primary Supply Teacher in Haywards Heath

About the role

Hays Education is looking for experienced primary teachers to provide flexible supply cover across a range of schools in East Sussex. You can work full‑time or part‑time, matching your own schedule while gaining experience in both small village schools and larger multi‑form institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons according to the school's existing plans and timetables.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Adapt quickly to unfamiliar curricula and daily schedules.
• Communicate clearly with teaching assistants, staff and school leadership.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and complete required training.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing your induction year.
• Recent classroom experience (within the last five years) and up‑to‑date knowledge of the current curriculum.
• Creative, positive attitude and professional demeanour.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
