Primary Teacher – Full‑time (Key Stage 1/2)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Primary Teacher to join a high‑achieving school in Hitchin. The position starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, long‑term assignment within a supportive and innovative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver rigorous, engaging lessons for Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, linking core subjects to broader themes.
- Lead classroom assistants and ensure targeted support for pupils with SEND or high‑potential profiles.
- Maintain a disciplined, respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes strong work ethic and positive behaviour.
- Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on academic progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to departmental planning, research‑led initiatives, INSET training and whole‑school enrichment programmes.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a UK primary setting, or a strong commitment as an Early Career Teacher.
- Ability to inspire pupils, manage classroom routines efficiently and project confident authority.
- Willingness to commit to a full‑time, five‑day week for the 2026/2027 academic year.
- Successful Enhanced DBS clearance.
Required skills
- QTS certification.
- Knowledge of SEND provision and differentiation strategies.
