Primary Teacher – KS2 (Year 3) – SEN (Autism)

About the role
Join a supportive, community‑focused SEN school in Southwark as a Primary Teacher for KS2 (Year 3) pupils with autism and complex learning needs. You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that promote confidence, communication and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with ASD and complex needs.
- Create and implement individual learning plans that focus on communication and independence.
- Collaborate closely with speech and language therapists, SENCOs and other specialists.
- Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress against learning goals.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching primary‑aged students, preferably in a SEN setting.
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and communication strategies.
- Excellent teamwork, empathy and classroom management skills.
- Passion for helping every child achieve their best.
Required skills
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder educational approaches.
- Ability to adapt curriculum and resources for diverse learning needs.
