Primary Teacher – SEN School (Barking) – Sep Start

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Primary Teacher to join a supportive SEN school in Barking from September. You will work with a small class of pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and communication challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to each pupil’s abilities and needs.
• Maintain effective classroom management and provide a nurturing learning environment.
• Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour with patience and appropriate strategies.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants and senior staff to ensure consistent support.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching primary‑age children with SEN, particularly ASD and MLD.
• Confident in adapting curriculum and assessments for diverse learning needs.
• Strong classroom management skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
