Primary Teacher (SEND) – EYFS to KS2 – £140‑180 per day

About the role
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking compassionate primary teachers with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEND) to work on a supply basis across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 settings in Sefton and surrounding areas. The role offers both short‑term and long‑term assignments, allowing you to support pupils with a range of additional needs while developing your inclusive teaching practice.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet individual learning goals.
- Create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Differentiate activities to accommodate diverse abilities and needs.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs and multidisciplinary teams.
- Implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
- Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families and school staff.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in SEND, specialist or inclusive mainstream settings.
- Passion for supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD or complex needs.
- Patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
- Strong communication skills for teamwork and parent interaction.
Required skills
- Knowledge of EHCP implementation.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
- Familiarity with positive behaviour support techniques.
