Primary Teacher – September Start Opportunities

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with a network of welcoming primary schools in Southampton and surrounding areas to fill September‑starting positions. Opportunities are available for day supply, long‑term placements and permanent roles across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the National Curriculum for early years and primary phases.
• Maintain effective classroom management and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assess pupil progress, provide feedback and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents and external agencies to support pupil wellbeing.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development and school events as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Experience teaching in a primary setting (EYFS, KS1 or KS2) – either as an early‑career teacher or an experienced practitioner.
• Strong classroom management skills and a genuine passion for inspiring young learners.
• Commitment to safeguarding, safeguarding training and high professional standards.

Required skills

• Phonics instruction.
• SEN (Special Educational Needs) strategies.
