Primary Teacher (Year 4/5) – Part-time, Long-term

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to lead a mixed Year 4/5 class on a part‑time, long‑term basis. The position is based in a supportive primary school in Taunton and involves teaching on Thursdays and Fridays.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for approximately 40 pupils.
• Mark work, assess progress and provide feedback in line with the national curriculum.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
• Utilise additional classroom support to ensure all students receive appropriate help.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching primary pupils, preferably Year 4 and Year 5.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

• Lesson planning and curriculum delivery.
