Primary Teaching Assistant – All School Years

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support schools across Cheshire West on a supply basis. The role offers the chance to gain hands‑on experience in a classroom environment, working with children of all primary ages on short‑term or longer placements.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning and delivering educational activities.
- Support individual pupils or small groups with learning tasks.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a safe, positive environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure clear communication.
- Provide one‑to‑one support where needed, reinforcing literacy and numeracy.
Required profile
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Prior experience in an educational setting is preferred.
- Willingness to work 4‑5 days a week, typically full‑time.
- Ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check (cost of £49.50 if not on the update service).
Required skills
- Strong communication skills with students, teachers and parents.
- Patience and empathy when supporting young learners.
- Creativity in delivering engaging activities.
- Organisational ability to track materials and student progress.
- Teamwork and adaptability to varied classroom situations.
