Primary Teaching Assistant – Bolton Primary School

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Bolton area. You will support children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support class teachers with delivering engaging, inclusive lessons across all primary year groups.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
• Assist with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy interventions as required.
• Prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote children’s social and emotional development.
• Provide additional support for pupils with SEND where appropriate.
• Supervise pupils during classroom activities and throughout the school day.
• Follow safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety policies at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or similar setting.
• Enthusiastic, patient and adaptable with a positive attitude.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to helping every child achieve their full potential.
• Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
