Primary Teaching Assistant – Handsworth

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support classrooms in Handsworth and surrounding Birmingham schools. The role offers flexible, part‑time assignments ranging from day‑to‑day supply to longer‑term placements.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils’ educational development alongside the class teacher.
- Assist in managing the classroom environment and creating a positive, engaging atmosphere.
- Provide tailored assistance for SEND pupils.
- Monitor student behaviour, report observations to the teacher, and de‑escalate conflicts.
- Recognise and reinforce good behaviour in line with school policies.
Required profile
- Enhanced DBS check (must be on the update service).
- Relevant qualifications or experience in a teaching assistant role.
- Willingness to undertake additional training as required.
