Primary Teaching Assistant – Horsham (Temporary Contract)

About the role
This temporary, full‑time position supports a mainstream primary school in Horsham. You will work directly with pupils who need extra help with reading, writing and task breakdown, helping them achieve a positive learning experience.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver tailored assistance.
- Ensure all equipment and facilities are safe and suitable for children’s use.
- Prepare learning activities, tidy the environment afterwards, and adapt tasks to individual needs.
- Maintain a calm, supportive atmosphere that encourages optimal learning.
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately.
Required profile
- A caring, compassionate and resilient nature.
- Pro‑active, ‘can‑do’ attitude rather than waiting for direction.
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check and not be barred from working with children.
