Primary Teaching Assistant in Lewisham

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lewisham. The role involves supporting teachers and pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classrooms, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering lessons for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils to reinforce learning.
• Help maintain a safe, orderly classroom and supervise pupils during break times.
• Contribute to the preparation of teaching resources and classroom displays.
• Participate in safeguarding duties and follow the school’s child protection policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a UK primary school (Key Stage 1 or 2).
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate with online update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.
