Primary Teaching Assistant – Tunbridge Wells

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to support schools across Tunbridge Wells. This long‑term, onsite position involves working directly with pupils who need extra help, as well as assisting class teachers to create a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support for students requiring additional assistance.
• Help pupils access learning materials, build confidence, and manage daily routines.
• Support the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Work with small groups to reinforce key concepts.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all learners.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people (school experience beneficial but not mandatory).
• Patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships.
• Willing to commit to long‑term placements and provide consistent support.
• Flexible, proactive and comfortable in a school setting.
• Committed to safeguarding and willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
