Primary Year 2 Teacher – KS1 – Temporary Full-time

About the role

This temporary full‑time position is for a Year 2 teacher in a friendly two‑form entry primary school located in Tower Hamlets, East London. The role starts in September 2026 and is a one‑year commitment, teaching up to 20 mixed‑ability pupils in Key Stage 1.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess the KS1 curriculum for Year 2 pupils.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of mixed‑ability learners.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress using appropriate assessment tools.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff and parents to enhance pupil outcomes.
• Contribute to whole‑school initiatives and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching KS1 or Year 2 pupils.
• Ability to work with mixed‑ability groups and adapt teaching strategies.
• Commitment to a one‑year temporary contract.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
