Principal Credit Risk Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Credit Risk Consultant to lead the delivery of complex credit risk projects for a leading financial services consultancy. The role combines hands‑on analytical work with senior stakeholder engagement, team leadership and business development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute credit risk models, scorecards and portfolio analyses using SQL, SAS or Python.
• Maintain and grow client relationships across consumer and SME lending sectors.
• Oversee project teams to ensure high‑quality, timely delivery of analytical outputs.
• Contribute to business development by participating in client proposals and pipeline activities.
• Mentor and develop junior analysts, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit risk analytics within consumer or SME lending.
• At least two years leading end‑to‑end credit risk projects in a consultancy setting.
• Current involvement in business development and client relationship management.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex analytical findings for senior stakeholders.
