Principal Digital Design Engineer

About the role

The SERDES Networking Solutions team at NXP is seeking a Principal Digital Design Engineer to lead the design of in‑vehicle networking transceivers. You will define and implement new capabilities for automotive products, working across analog, digital, and verification domains.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to design, implement and support in‑vehicle networking devices.
• Manage day‑to‑day performance of junior engineers and coordinate with architecture, analog, DV and validation teams.
• Define block requirements and architecture, optimizing for area, power, timing and functional safety.
• Create robust design documentation and ensure compliance with automotive design processes.

Required profile

• B.S./M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience as a chip lead, architect or subsystem lead with multiple successful tape‑outs.
• Proven expertise in silicon design flow including synthesis, static timing closure and DFT.

Required skills

• SystemVerilog or VHDL (and object‑oriented software language).
• Chisel.
• Silicon bring‑up and debug.
• Ethernet networking and automotive design processes.
• Embedded ARM or RISC‑V processor knowledge.
