Principal Geotechnical Engineer – Lead Leeds Team

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead our Leeds team of engineering geologists. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of projects, including slope stability, retaining walls, mining risk assessments, residential, high‑rise, commercial and local authority developments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers, fostering technical excellence.
• Deliver geotechnical designs and investigations for a variety of construction projects.
• Produce high‑quality technical reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery meets safety and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to business development by supporting proposal preparation and client engagement.

Required profile

• Chartered Geotechnical Engineer status or close to chartership.
• Geology or civil engineering degree.
• Full right to work permanently in the UK.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Experience leading geotechnical teams on complex projects.
