Principal Geotechnical Engineer – London

About the role

Join a fast‑growing engineering consultancy in Central London as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer. You will lead the geotechnical team, delivering innovative design solutions for complex built‑environment and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design projects from concept through to delivery.
• Provide technical input on foundation design, retaining structures, earthworks and ground improvement schemes.
• Prepare, review and sign‑off geotechnical calculations, assessments and reports.
• Manage client relationships and support business development activities.
• Mentor junior and graduate engineers and ensure technical quality across the team.
• Collaborate with structural, civil and other engineering disciplines.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or related field.
• Significant experience in a geotechnical consultancy.
• Proven ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional body (or working towards chartership).
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
