Principal Installation Engineer – Offshore Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Installation Engineer to join our Installation and Project Engineering discipline within the Global Project Centre. You will lead the installation of subsea structures, mooring, riser, flexible flowline and umbilical systems for offshore energy projects, acting as the technical conduit between clients, suppliers, offshore crews and design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation work packages on tenders, FEED studies and full projects.
• Deliver scopes on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
• Manage technical and commercial scope changes.
• Provide technical point‑of‑contact for installation subjects and validate concepts against HSEQ criteria.
• Guide and develop a team of engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and professional growth.
• Contribute to corporate standards, guidelines and best‑practice documentation.

Required profile

• Expertise in at least two of the following: subsea structures installation, hook‑ups/pull‑ins, riser systems, flexible flowlines, umbilicals/flying leads.
• Experience with mooring installation, shore‑pull and deep/ultra‑deep water construction.
• Proven track record on offshore tenders and projects.
• Practical project or contractual management experience.
• Ability to develop operational documentation such as procedures, task plans and rigging designs.
• Strong offshore operational background with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
