Principal Pensions Associate

About the role

Gallagher Benefit Services is looking for a Principal Pensions Associate to lead a portfolio of occupational pension schemes. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate administration of Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution and Hybrid schemes, delivering high‑quality service and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and oversee a diverse portfolio of pension schemes, ensuring timely and accurate calculations.
• Allocate cases, perform both automated and manual calculations, and review results.
• Draft and review correspondence, reports, and manage pensioner payrolls.
• Provide guidance and training to junior and senior pensions administrators.
• Support the Client Executive team, attend client meetings and contribute to new‑business pitches.
• Communicate professionally with scheme members via email, phone and letters.
• Manage cash‑flows, investments, disinvestments and invoice processing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and build strong internal relationships.
• Assist the Team Leader and act as deputy when required.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience administering DB, DC or Hybrid pension schemes.
• Working towards or holding the Pension Management Institute’s CPC qualification.
• Proven experience in mentoring or managing team members.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to explain complex calculations simply.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy in data processing and strong prioritisation to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
