Principal Pensions Data Administrator

About the role

The Principal Pensions Data Administrator will ensure the accuracy and quality of data that underpins the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and related pension schemes. This senior role combines deep knowledge of pensions legislation with a specialist focus on data management, supporting reliable and efficient pension administration for over 700,000 members.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the assessment and validation of complex data submissions, guaranteeing accuracy and meeting regulatory deadlines.
• Drive data‑related initiatives, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal standards.
• Contribute to the production and distribution of annual benefit statements for active and deferred scheme members.
• Collaborate with the data services team to continuously improve data processing and reporting procedures.
• Provide expert guidance on LGPS and wider pensions legislation as it relates to data handling.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with LGPS and broader pensions legislation.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex data sets with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
