Principal Pricing Analyst – Commercial Insurance

About the role

Join Markerstudy’s Pricing team to shape pricing strategies for small commercial insurance products. You will lead the development of data‑driven solutions that underpin retail pricing across taxi, commercial van, liability and property covers, supporting rapid growth and new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of predictive models (GLMs) and price optimisation techniques, including machine‑learning algorithms such as GBM and Lifetime Value models.
• Provide technical leadership on WTW Radar and Emblem, ensuring solutions are efficient and production‑ready.
• Query and engineer large data sets using Python, R, SQL or PySpark on modern platforms such as Azure Databricks.
• Communicate pricing proposals and insights to stakeholders at all levels and collaborate with Modelling, Optimisation and Street Pricing teams.
• Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Previous experience in general insurance pricing, with a quantitative degree or equivalent proven experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R, Python, PySpark, SAS and SQL.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and modern data‑technology platforms.
• Knowledge of predictive modelling techniques such as GLMs and machine‑learning algorithms (GBM).
• Familiarity with WTW Radar and optimisation tools.
