Principal Recruitment Consultant – Software Engineering

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing specialist recruitment consultancy focused on the MedTech and medical devices market. They are seeking a Principal Recruitment Consultant to lead their Software Engineering practice, delivering end‑to‑end hiring solutions for permanent and contract roles.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit software engineers across disciplines such as backend, frontend, full‑stack, cloud, embedded and data.
• Build and nurture long‑term relationships with technology leaders, engineering managers and CTO‑level stakeholders.
• Engage existing clients and prospect new accounts to expand the consultancy’s footprint.
• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from client brief to offer acceptance and onboarding.
• Proactively source and engage high‑calibre engineering talent.
• Advise clients on market trends, hiring strategies and technical skill availability.
• Develop your desk through networking, referrals and market intelligence.

Required profile

• Proven experience recruiting software engineers.
• Strong understanding of modern software development roles and tech stacks.
• Commercially driven with solid business development skills.
• Consultative, relationship‑focused approach.
• Confidence managing senior stakeholders and negotiating offers.
• Motivation to grow a specialist market within a supportive, high‑performing team.
