Principal Regulatory Advisor - Non-Food

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Regulatory Advisor for non‑food consumer products to provide technical leadership and regulatory expertise across the UK, Ireland and EU markets. The role will act as the key authority for our advisory team, ensuring services are accurate, compliant and commercially relevant.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, check and approve pack copy and product specifications, ensuring compliance with current and pending EU and UK legislation, codes of practice and client requirements.
• Lead and mentor the advisory team, delivering training, cross‑training and onboarding for junior advisors.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and enforcement agencies, conduct weekly horizon scanning and keep the team updated on legislative changes.
• Develop and maintain a technical sign‑off checklist to verify that all regulatory work meets required standards.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, acting as the primary contact for clients, suppliers and internal teams on complex technical queries and commercial matters.

Required profile

• Current experience in regulatory affairs or product quality, with strong knowledge of UK and EU consumer protection legislation.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply retailer policies and legislation to product compliance.
• Experience training and mentoring technical teams and working with large retailers or multinational brands.
