Principal Security Researcher

About the role

Microsoft’s Cloud & AI organization is seeking a Principal Security Researcher to join the Global Hunting, Oversight, and Strategic Triage (GHOST) team. You will work on cutting‑edge security challenges, helping customers defend against advanced adversaries while shaping Microsoft’s security products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical workstreams during complex investigations and threat‑hunting missions.
• Develop and operationalize threat intelligence and best‑practice investigation processes.
• Identify, catalog, and document new attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Provide actionable customer notifications and guidance to protect enterprise environments worldwide.
• Collaborate with global teams to embed findings into Microsoft tooling and services.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR).
• Passion for defending customers against targeted exploitation.
