Principal & Senior Test Automation Engineer

About the role

Hastings Insurance Services Limited is a digital insurance provider seeking experienced Test Automation Engineers at senior and principal levels. You will join the CIO team to drive automation across Scrum teams and help embed AI responsibly into everyday delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide automation capabilities that support Scrum teams and reduce non‑automated test percentages.
• Design and implement extensions or adjustments to existing automation frameworks.
• Validate AI‑generated outputs, support testing of AI‑enabled solutions, and promote responsible AI adoption.
• Use AI tools to accelerate creation, maintenance and optimisation of test automation and test cases.
• Create effective prompts, evaluate AI outputs for inaccuracies, and support colleagues in adopting AI tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in test automation within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, especially around AI‑generated results.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
• Interest in applying AI to enhance testing efficiency and quality.
