Principal Software Engineer – Hybrid (Cambridge, UK)

About the role

As a Principal Software Engineer in AVEVA's E3D development group, you will help maintain and evolve both desktop and cloud applications that serve leading industrial companies. The position is based in Cambridge and operates on a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement functional features based on Product Owner specifications.
• Analyse, investigate and debug issues reported internally and by customers.
• Drive product quality through automated testing, architectural refactoring and best‑practice sharing.
• Make sound decisions on workload prioritisation to ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience building professional software with C++ and/or C#.
• Familiarity with industrial engineering or factory plant design concepts.
• Comfortable using Git for source control and Azure DevOps for automated build pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
