Principal Technologist, Core AI Services

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a hands‑on Principal Technologist to lead the design, development and scaling of cloud‑native AI platform services and public APIs. You will work in an agile Scrum team, delivering secure, production‑grade AI capabilities that become the foundation for AI adoption across AVEVA’s product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Own technical authority for core AI services, ensuring design quality, reliability and performance.
• Build scalable, fault‑tolerant services on Microsoft Azure with a focus on high availability.
• Develop secure, well‑documented public APIs and SDKs for internal and external developers.
• Collaborate across data pipelines, orchestration layers and service APIs to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and champion continuous learning within the team.

Required profile

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in platform or cloud‑native service development.
• Proven experience with containerised deployments on Kubernetes.
• Strong background in RESTful API design, versioning, testing and lifecycle management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design reviews, code reviews and architectural discussions.
