Printmaker – Flexible Shift (Silkscreen)

About the role

Make-Ready is seeking a hands‑on Printmaker to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, to boost studio capacity. You will join a small, ambitious team in Tottenham, North London, and receive structured training before taking increasing responsibility for quality and delivery of print projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate hand benches and semi‑automatic silkscreen presses, preparing inks, screens and substrates for each job.
• Maintain high‑quality output by following job sheets, proofs and technical instructions, monitoring print quality throughout production.
• Clean, maintain and store equipment and materials, ensuring a safe and organised workspace.
• Plan shift work, hand over tasks clearly, keep production records up to date and communicate progress or blockers promptly.
• Proof and develop assigned projects, translating creative direction into practical printmaking decisions and documenting processes for repeatable editions.

Required profile

• Curious and practical, eager to understand the full printmaking workflow and improve technical skills.
• Reliable and flexible, able to work a five‑day shift pattern that may include early mornings, evenings or weekends.

• Collaborative and respectful, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues across the studio.

Required skills

• Silkscreen printing experience in a professional or educational setting.
• Operation of hand benches and semi‑automatic silkscreen equipment.
• Ink preparation, colour mixing, registration and substrate handling.
• Stencil making and pre‑press processes.
• Strong attention to detail for colour, registration and print quality.
