Private Banking Relationship Manager

About the role

A prestigious international bank in London is expanding its Private Banking division and seeks an experienced Relationship Manager to strengthen client coverage and support growth through 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and deepen long‑term relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, acting as their primary point of contact.
• Identify and pursue cross‑selling and up‑selling opportunities to grow client portfolios.
• Achieve revenue and asset growth targets through new client acquisition and expansion of existing relationships.
• Travel internationally every other month to meet clients and coordinate with regional stakeholders.
• Ensure strict compliance with AML, sanctions screening, PEP monitoring, and KYC/CDD protocols, escalating issues as needed.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Settlements, Operations and other internal teams to deliver seamless service.
• Maintain accurate client files, conduct periodic reviews and keep clients informed of any changes to account terms.
• Execute client requests such as transfers, cash orders, cheque books, deposits and general enquiries promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer‑facing role within retail financial services or banking.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of AML regulations, FCA rules and related directives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence to interact with HNW clients.
• Demonstrated ability to meet compliance standards while maintaining high accuracy.
• Practical knowledge of day‑to‑day banking activities and core banking systems.
• In‑depth understanding of retail banking products and associated compliance requirements.
• Degree‑level education in a relevant financial discipline; CEMAP qualification is desirable.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available.
