Private Client Fee Earner

About the role

We are looking for a Private Client Fee Earner to join our growing team in Devon. The role offers the chance to manage a diverse private client portfolio and, depending on experience, supervise junior colleagues. Candidates can work from any of our offices in Barnstaple, Bideford or Tiverton.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied private client caseload from instruction through to completion.
• Advise clients on wills, probate, estate administration, powers of attorney and trusts.
• Deliver a high standard of client service and build lasting relationships.
• Supervise and mentor junior fee earners where appropriate.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to the growth and success of the Private Client department.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent with 3‑5 years PQE (or more for senior role).
• Proven experience in private client work.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Proactive, organised and team‑oriented approach.
