Private Client Paralegal – Full‑time, Devon

About the role

The Legists, a well‑established regional law firm in Devon, is looking for a Private Client Paralegal to join its growing Private Client team. You will support fee‑earners while managing your own caseload, gaining exposure to a broad range of client‑focused legal services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with wills, estate planning, probate, estate administration, trusts, tax planning and lasting powers of attorney.
• Support solicitors on more complex private client matters.
• Draft legal documentation and correspondence.
• Liaise with clients in a clear, professional and empathetic manner.
• Manage administrative tasks and progress files efficiently.
• Contribute to business development and maintain client relationships.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a private client team (paralegal or legal assistant level).
• Good understanding of wills, probate and related matters.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and client‑care skills.
• Genuine interest in a long‑term career within private client law.
