Private Client Paralegal

About the role

We are seeking a professional, compassionate and highly organised Private Client Paralegal to join our established Private Client team in Leigh‑on‑Sea. The role supports solicitors and fee earners with a broad range of private client matters, providing exceptional service during sensitive life events.

Key responsibilities

• Support solicitors and fee earners throughout private client matters from instruction to completion.
• Prepare wills, codicils, lasting powers of attorney and trust documentation.
• Draft probate applications, inheritance tax forms and estate administration paperwork.
• Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, executors, financial advisers, accountants, HMRC and other third parties.
• Collect and value assets, obtain and review information on estates, assets, liabilities and trusts.
• Maintain accurate file records, case management systems and conduct client onboarding, including identity verification and AML checks.
• Provide administrative support to the wider Private Client team and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within a Private Client department as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Secretary.
• Good understanding of wills, probate, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney and trusts.
• Excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients.
