Private Client Solicitor – Up to £75k – Exeter

About the role

This position is with a well‑established law firm in Exeter, renowned for high‑quality private client advice. The solicitor will manage a varied caseload, working autonomously while receiving support from experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Drafting wills and providing comprehensive estate‑planning advice
• Handling probate and estate administration matters
• Advising on trusts and inheritance‑tax planning
• Preparing lasting powers of attorney and addressing mental‑capacity issues
• Maintaining strong, long‑term client relationships with a focus on clear, pragmatic advice

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with solid experience in private client work
• Ability to run files independently and manage client relationships
• Clear, confident communicator with a professional and personable manner
• Detail‑oriented, organised and client‑focused
• STEP membership or progression is advantageous but not essential

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of probate, trusts and inheritance tax legislation
• Proficiency in drafting wills and related legal documents
• Understanding of mental‑capacity law and lasting powers of attorney
