About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to join a leading chartered accountancy firm in Exeter. The role offers a varied technical portfolio, working with high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts and estates, and provides a clear pathway to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of private client tax engagements.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns and related compliance work.
• Provide advice on income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters.
• Support managers and partners on complex advisory assignments.
• Build strong, lasting client relationships as a trusted point of contact.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or tax professional with relevant experience.
• Experience working with high‑net‑worth individuals, trusts and estates.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ambitious, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Right to work in the UK without restriction.
