About the role
This position supports a leading UK accountancy firm in delivering high‑quality private client tax services from its St Albans office. You will act as a case‑handler for complex personal tax matters while also managing routine client affairs.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a mixed portfolio of personal tax clients, handling both complex and straightforward cases.
- Assist senior managers and partners with advisory work, including IHT, pension and residency planning reports.
- Prepare, review and file income tax, National Insurance and capital gains tax returns.
- Liaise with third‑party professionals and clients to gather necessary information.
- Attend client meetings, ensure timely delivery of work and maintain budgetary control.
- Research new technical tax areas and support s9A enquiries and digital disclosures.
- Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for assigned clients and manage routine correspondence.
Required profile
- CTA qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in private client tax.
- Strong organisational abilities to meet HMRC deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; training provided for firm‑specific AI tools.
