Private Client Tax Manager – Chatham

About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join a leading chartered accountancy practice in Chatham. The role combines compliance work with high‑value advisory services, offering a hybrid working model and a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of complex private client tax returns, ensuring full compliance with UK tax regulations.
• Provide advisory services with a primary focus on Inheritance Tax, while also covering global mobility, share schemes and the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).
• Collaborate with the wider tax team, delivering technical expertise and supporting client advisory projects.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored tax solutions.
• Participate in business development activities, including networking, generating internal referrals and contributing to marketing initiatives.
• Author publications and enhance the firm’s online presence.
• Travel to other offices or client sites as required.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in private client tax, preferably within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
• Proven track record managing a diverse client portfolio and delivering high‑quality advice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership experience with the ability to mentor junior staff.
