Private Client Tax Manager – Exeter

About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join our Exeter office. You will deliver high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services to a portfolio of personal tax clients, including trusts and high‑net‑worth individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse client portfolio, providing tax advice on IHT, CGT, residence and domicile.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns, computations and related reports.
• Draft client letters and reports, including inheritance tax planning.
• Meet with clients to assess and advise on their tax planning needs.
• Review work of junior staff and support their development.
• Liaise with HMRC, solicitors, accountants and other professional advisers.
• Promote cross‑selling opportunities for financial planning services.

Required profile

• Previous experience in tax compliance and advisory for personal clients.
• ATT or CTA qualification (or equivalent) with up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance standards for tax.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional, discreet and able to build client rapport quickly.
