Private Client Tax Manager – Financial Services

About the role

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading private client tax teams, advising high‑net‑worth individuals and senior executives within the financial services sector. You will act as a trusted adviser on UK tax affairs and complex cross‑border matters, supporting clients employed by global banks, private equity houses and asset managers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on UK personal tax for high‑net‑worth individuals and financial services executives.
• Guide clients on cross‑border tax issues, residency, and international reporting requirements.
• Assist with the movement of funds and determine taxing rights across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support clients through changes in UK tax legislation, including non‑domicile and residency rules.
• Serve as the primary point of contact, handling HMRC correspondence and resolving queries.
• Review and prepare complex UK personal tax returns and calculations, ensuring technical accuracy.
• Identify and escalate complex tax issues, conduct technical research and provide recommendations.
• Lead client engagements from planning to delivery (for Manager/Senior Manager level) and coach junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified tax professional with experience advising high‑net‑worth individuals and senior financial services clients.
• Strong knowledge of UK personal tax, international tax, residency and non‑domicile rules.
• Proven ability to manage complex cross‑border tax matters and liaise with international colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain tax positions clearly to clients and HMRC.
