Private Client Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join a successful accountancy practice in Birmingham. You will manage a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, landed estates, privately owned businesses and senior executives, providing specialist advice on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, income tax and international tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, liaising internally and meeting with clients.
• Approve technically robust tax computations and identify complex tax issues.
• Deliver comprehensive tax advisory outcomes and maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
• Lead, develop and review a team of tax professionals, delegating work and ensuring high‑quality output.
• Drive process efficiency, technology adoption, oversee WIP and billing, and maintain compliance trackers.
• Identify advisory opportunities, support partners on complex matters and represent the firm at external events.
• Collaborate with other departments and contribute to firm‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant and/or CTA tax adviser.
• Significant personal tax experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to deliver bespoke tax solutions for private clients.
