Private Client Tax Manager – Tax Advisory Role

About the role

The Private Client Tax Manager will lead the delivery of tax services for a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, ensuring compliance and optimisation of their tax affairs. You will provide specialist advice on complex areas such as inheritance tax and capital gains tax, while supporting the growth of the practice. The role is based in Crawley and operates within a collaborative, hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private clients, ensuring tax compliance and optimisation.
• Advise on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and other complex tax matters.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns for accuracy and timeliness.
• Identify and communicate tax planning opportunities to clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with tailored solutions.
• Stay up to date with tax legislation changes and inform clients accordingly.
• Support and mentor junior team members, sharing technical expertise.
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver a holistic business services approach.

Required profile

• Professional tax qualification (CTA, ACA or ACCA).
• Proven experience managing private client tax portfolios.
• Strong technical knowledge of inheritance tax and capital gains tax.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to tax planning and client service.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction.
