Private Patients Outpatient Team Leader

About the role

This position is part of the Private Healthcare service at a leading NHS Foundation Trust. The Team Leader will ensure the highest standards of administrative support and hospitality for private patients attending outpatient appointments.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for private patients during outpatient visits, providing a welcoming and informative experience.
• Supervise the outpatient reception team, managing daily workload and ensuring smooth service delivery.
• Maintain and update the electronic health record system with accurate appointment details.
• Arrange patient transport and coordinate supplementary services as required.
• Participate in a rolling reception rota (Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑8 pm) and support the Service Manager in overall outpatient operations.
• Address patient queries and concerns promptly, and communicate sensitive information clearly to consultants, patients, and families.
• Troubleshoot non‑routine issues and resolve initial complaints.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated with strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Proven experience delivering excellent customer service in a healthcare setting.
• Professional, can‑do attitude with the ability to handle sensitive information.
• Experience supervising or leading a reception team is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an electronic health record (EHR) system.
