Private Tax Consultant

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Personal Tax Consultant to join a growing tax team. This role would suit a STEP‑qualified private client tax specialist, or an individual with significant equivalent experience, who has strong expertise across personal tax and succession planning.

Key responsibilities

• Advising clients on personal tax and succession planning.
• Providing specialist advice on trusts, estates and inheritance tax.
• Advising owner‑managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
• Managing and advising on capital gains tax and personal tax planning matters.
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing practical, commercially focused advice.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Communicating confidently with clients and other professional advisers.
• Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the tax offering.
• Supporting and developing junior members of the team.

Required profile

• STEP qualification or significant equivalent private client tax experience.
• Strong experience in personal tax and succession planning.
• Expertise in trusts, estates and inheritance tax planning.
• Experience advising owner‑managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
• Strong technical knowledge of capital gains tax and personal tax.
• Ability to identify tax planning opportunities and deliver practical advice.
• Commercial awareness and confidence dealing directly with clients.
• Strong communication, relationship management and business development skills.
• A collaborative approach with the ability to support and develop junior colleagues.
