Process Engineer – Plant Optimisation (Buxton)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our Tunstead plant in Buxton. You will focus on plant performance, ensuring health, safety, environmental, quality and productivity targets are met while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyse key process parameters to optimise plant performance.
• Conduct process studies, audits and generate improvement reports.
• Recommend modifications to control parameters and processes.
• Schedule and complete process checks in line with departmental objectives.
• Identify and deliver power‑reduction and energy‑optimisation projects.
• Optimise fuel consumption and promote the use of alternative fuels and raw materials.
• Provide process engineering input to capital projects and multidisciplinary initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• IChemE associate status (or willingness to attain chartered status).
• Experience with safety and environmental regulations and high safety standards.
• Proven process engineering experience, preferably in the cement industry.
• Solid understanding of physics, chemistry and thermodynamics.
