Process Operator – 12-Month Fixed-Term (Edinburgh)

About the role

We are looking for a Process Operator to join our Edinburgh manufacturing site on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The successful candidate will carry out chemical batch reactions, operate plant equipment and ensure all activities comply with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and health‑and‑safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform chemical reactions according to batch sheets and process instructions.
• Monitor key reaction criteria and report any deviations to a Supervisor or Shift Manager.
• Operate mechanical and electro‑mechanical material handling equipment, including weighing, dispensing liquids and handling drums, tanks and containers.
• Maintain accurate process records, in‑process sampling and testing, and ensure proper labeling of waste streams.
• Execute cleaning procedures for vessels, tanks and plant equipment in line with cGMP.
• Support the introduction of new products and process development activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Required profile

• Ability to work a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights) with an 18‑day break every 10 weeks.
• Willingness to wear appropriate protective clothing and handle hazardous materials safely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and regulatory requirements.

What we offer
