Process Operator – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Process Operator for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract in Witham. The role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in science who wants to start a career in an award‑winning industrial laboratory. Full training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh analytical samples accurately using laboratory techniques.
• Load and unload laboratory dishwashers and wash glassware.
• Transport materials between sites on foot or using the company van.
• Prepare samples under the guidance of the Chemist/Laboratory Supervisor.
• Maintain equipment, ensure efficient use, and follow cleaning and safety procedures.
• Report any deviations from methods, systems or procedures.
• Act as a porter for other units on the estate when holding a valid driving licence.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in science and highly organised.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and high standards.
• Computer literate and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Discretion, confidentiality and clear communication with peers and management.
• Valid driving licence.

What we offer

• Salary up to £26,256 per year plus a 10% shift allowance.
• 37.5 hours per week with a rotating 6‑1 / 1‑8 shift pattern.
