Procurement Business Partner – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

This 12‑month contract position supports a public‑sector organisation in delivering strategic procurement outcomes. Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure compliance with UK public‑sector procurement regulations while driving value‑for‑money across complex spend categories.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leadership to develop multi‑year procurement pipelines aligned with organisational priorities and budgets.
• Provide expert procurement and commercial advice, ensuring adherence to public‑sector governance and value‑for‑money principles.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities, including tendering, contract awards, spend forecasting, and commercial reporting.
• Lead contract governance, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation through regular governance meetings.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of commercial systems, supplier relationship management, and contract management frameworks.
• Collaborate with finance, risk, and business planning teams to embed consistent procurement best practice.
• Conduct commercial and financial analysis to identify risks and deliver efficiency improvements.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and procurement guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive public‑sector procurement experience, including leading end‑to‑end tendering exercises.
• Strong commercial capability with a track record of delivering value‑for‑money solutions.
• Proven experience in contract and supplier relationship management.
• CIPS Level 4 qualification (or working towards full membership) and at least six years of relevant experience.
