Procurement Buyer – Manufacturing

About the role

Stirling Ellis, an international SME manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Buyer to join its dynamic team in Slough. You will play a critical part in ensuring that all essential components are sourced and delivered on time to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Source and purchase key components and materials, balancing cost, quality and delivery timelines.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and delivery terms to achieve best value.
• Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with quality and statutory standards.
• Manage inventory levels through strategic ordering to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Analyse market and pricing trends to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, finance and logistics to align procurement with operational needs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and update ERP systems in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years proven experience as a Buyer, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Graduate calibre with strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
