Procurement Director – Strategic Procurement Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Director to shape and execute our strategic procurement agenda, drive commercial assurance and deliver measurable value across a complex organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an organisation‑wide procurement strategy aligned with corporate objectives and financial plans.
• Lead strategic sourcing, category management, cost optimisation and supplier performance across a diverse spend portfolio.
• Drive procurement transformation, embedding best practice, robust governance and continuous improvement.
• Provide executive‑level commercial advice, reporting on performance, risk and opportunities.
• Establish and embed supplier relationship management frameworks and contract lifecycle controls.
• Lead high‑value procurement exercises, negotiate major contracts and frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023, public procurement rules and internal audit standards.
• Lead, coach and develop the procurement team, building commercial capability.

Required profile

• Significant senior‑level experience in procurement leadership (Director, Head or equivalent).
• Proven track record of delivering strategic procurement transformation and value for money.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to influence executive decision‑making.
• Experience managing complex supplier relationships and high‑value contracts.
• Deep knowledge of public procurement regulations and governance.
